BOISE -- A fire that smoldered for days at a recycling center near the Boise Airport has been extinguished, Boise Fire announced Wednesday.
The blaze at Diamond Street Recycling started Sunday afternoon in a large pile of branches and other wooden debris. A vehicle was also engulfed in flames.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames the same day, but the fire continued to burn, sending thick clouds of smoke over the Treasure Valley.
Crews have been on scene mopping up hotspots and ensuring the fire doesn't start again. Firefighters cleared the scene at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Boise Fire.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
