'Great Dolphin Dunk' fundraiser kicks off

The money raised will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — Over 250 children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County got to spend their day floating the endless river at Roaring Springs Water Park in Meridian, helping kick off the annual "Great Dolphin Dunk" fundraiser.

Roaring Springs is selling upwards of 10,000 toy dolphins over the next month for $3 each.

They'll be released into the endless river on August 11th.

The goal is to raise $30,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County, which gives every kid, regardless of socioeconomic status, a place to go where they feel like they belong.

"We charge just $25 for a school year or a summer membership, and as you can imagine it costs a lot more than that for a kid to go through our club, so we raise the money through the community," said Colleen Braga, Executive Director, Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County.

You can purchase a dolphin through August 11th.

For every dolphin purchased, you are entered for a chance to win prizes like four season passes to Roaring Springs, a free year of pizza from Idaho Pizza Company, or $500 in cash.
