Find Help Idaho: Local database connects Idahoans with local resources

The online platform allows Idahoans to find nearby free and low-cost resources including child care, food pantries and health care.

BOISE, Idaho — As our communities grow - so do our community needs. But needing help can be different than knowing how to get help.

An online platform called Find Help Idaho has grown to help connect Idahoans across the Gem state with thousands of free and low-cost resources.

"The site is free, confidential and easy to use - so that anyone at any time can find what they need," United Way of Treasure Valley President & CEO Megan Remaley said.

Idahoans can find local and state resources by entering their zip code and keywords into the website ran by nonprofit United Way of Treasure Valley.

"We know that when people are in need, it's often more complex than just one thing," Remaley said. "So Find Help Idaho helps to ensure that you have access to all resources - whether that's child care, food pantries, access to health care - at the click of a button."

The platform first launched in 2022, and has grown to offer a list of about 4,400 resources and programs across the Gem State. Sitewide data shows that the platform is most often used to help residents with housing and find local food pantries.

Since individuals and families can have varying needs during different times of the year, Find Help Idaho also has a list of seasonal resources. The website can be accessed here
