BOISE, Idaho — School may be out for the summer but a group of kids donated nearly 100 books to a learning center in Boise.
The campers at the Montessori Academy in Eagle donated coloring books to the Learning and Language Center at Calico in Boise.
Montessori teachers say the event on Monday was just as much about teaching these students as it was helping others.
"So they can be helpful members of our community. So when they see someone in need, or see someone later on in life, if they ever need something they can know where to go," Jordan Ridinger, the office manager at the school, said. "They can remember, 'Hey, I learned this in school we helped this organization, so they can probably help me.'"
The students also donated toiletries and basic necessities in addition to the coloring books.
