BOISE - A DUI task force was launched for the holiday season on Saturday night.
Caldwell, Nampa, Meridian, Boise and Idaho State Police are joining together to keep the roads safer as more families are traveling and more people tend to be drinking.
"It's just the nature of the beast.," ISP Corporal Kenny Walker said. "People are visiting their families and usually there's alcohol involved and there's nothing wrong with that. We just want to make sure that if you are drinking, don't get behind the wheel. That's all that we ask."
The task force will be canvassing the Treasure Valley looking for erratic driving. They ask that if you plan on drinking, have a plan in place so you don't end up driving and putting yourself and others at risk.
