BOISE, Idaho — One person is dead, and another is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a two-airplane crash in Butte County.
The Butte County Sheriff's Office in a news release said it received a report of a two-airplane crash west of the airport in Arco at roughly 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20.
The sheriff's office said two crop duster planes crashed in midair and landed in a grass-covered area. One pilot was killed, and the other was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The condition of the pilot in the hospital is unknown.
The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
The Butte County Sheriff's Office said the pilots' names would not be released pending the notification of next of kin.
