1 dead after driver crashes into semi-truck south of Twin Falls

Idaho State Police said a 37-year-old woman driving a Cadillac crashed into a Freightliner semi-truck Tuesday afternoon. She died at the scene.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho — One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 93 south of Twin Falls.

Idaho State Police in a news release said it received a report of a crash at milepost 38 at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday, June 25. ISP said the crash happened after a 37-year-old Twin Falls woman crossed over the center line of the highway while driving south in a 2004 Cadillac Deville. 

The Cadillac went into the northbound lane and crashed into a 2017 Freightliner semi pulling a flatbed, driven by a 47-year-old man from Twin Falls. 

The woman died at the scene due to her injuries, police said.

The condition of the man is unknown. Idaho State Police said both drivers were not wearing their seatbelts. The crash blocked northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 93 for roughly three hours Tuesday.

ISP said the Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, Filer Fire Department, Magic Valley Paramedics and Idaho Transportation Department assisted in the crash.
