NEW PLYMOUTH, Idaho -- A teenage boy is dead after a shooting in New Plymouth Tuesday night.

According to the Payette County Sheriff's Office, dispatchers received a report of shots fired at 8:18 p.m.

When deputies arrived at a home in the 5000 block of Highway 52, they found a 17-year-old Deondre Kinney of Payette dead with a gunshot wound.

The teen was dead when the deputies arrived, officials say.

According to the sheriff's office, the shooting is believed to be an "isolated incident" and the community is not in any danger.

Detectives from the Payette County Sheriff's Office and Idaho State Police are investigating the shooting.

Payette County Sheriff's Office Lt. Andy Creech told KTVB the gunshot wound was not self inflicted, but investigators are working to determine whether it was an accident or a homicide.

Creech said the teen lived at the home where his body was found.

No arrests have been made in the shooting. Creech said detectives know who else was at the house when the shooting happened, but are waiting to release information until after they determine whether the shooting was intentional.
