ASOTIN, Wash. — A small plane being piloted by a man from Nampa crashed into the Snake River in Washington. According to the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened on Saturday, March 16.
The sheriff's office identified that 51-year-old pilot Brandon W. Peterson from Nampa, and passenger 47-year-old Kristen Blackburn, from Lewiston, were aboard the plane when it crashed. Police said the crash happened after the single-engine plane clipped a power line when they were flying in the northern area of Hells Canyon.
As the Lewiston Tribune reported, the two were able to get out of the plane on their own and were then helped by some boaters. They both went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
