BOISE, Idaho — Two suspects are in police custody after a police chase on I-84 ended in a crash that sparked a brush fire near Boise.
Idaho State Police (ISP), in a news release, said at 3:27 p.m., a trooper attempted to pull over a 20-year-old Caldwell man driving a silver 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix for reckless driving on I-84. The trooper pursued the Pontiac but stopped after the driver went towards downtown Boise.
ISP stated the Pontiac later crashed and caught fire, igniting a grass fire. The 20-year-old driver ran from police but was later arrested by a Boise Police officer near Lawrence Avenue and LcMullen Street in Boise.
The 20-year-old driver is facing felony charges. ISP said a second 20-year-old man from Caldwell was also taken into police custody and is facing misdemeanor charges.
ISP is investigating the crash.
