BOISE -- The Boys& Girls Club of Ada County announced Ada County's brand new Youth of the Year on Thursday night.
Five teens from the Garden City and Meridian Boys and Girls Club competed for top honors tonight, and the winner was 16-year-old, Wes Pettit.
Pettit won a $1,000 scholarship from the Micron Technology Foundation and will now go to compete for the title of Idaho youth of the year next month.
This comes on the heels of last year's Ada County winner, Darnisha Victorain, who was a national contender and got to meet President Obama in the White House.
