BOISE, Idaho — Idaho residents participating in the Idaho Lottery $1,000,000 raffle are now locked in as tickets are sold out.
According to the Idaho Lottery, the last 450,000 ticket was sold on Saturday, Nov. 25. Two lucky ticket holders will win $1 million, announced at 6 p.m. on Dec. 27.
2023 marks the event's 17th year the raffle has been conducted. The Idaho Lottery said that due to the success they saw with last year's raffle, they added another top prize winner and an additional 200,000 tickets for residents to purchase.
"Two one-million-dollar prizes really captured the interest of Idaho Lottery players and retailers," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery director. "They again made our annual Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle a success. Right now, those two tickets are worth a guaranteed $1,000,000 each. All tickets must be kept in a safe place until the winning numbers are announced just before the New Year."
Ticket holders also have other chances to win prizes.
"Besides the guaranteed top prizes of $1,000,000, there are over 17,850 additional prizes ranging from $15 up to $10,000," Anderson said.
2023's $1,000,000 raffle also gave $1000 prizes to ticket holders who had purchased a 25,000th ticket.
The Idaho lottery said ticket holders who win over $1000 need to claim their prize at the Boise office and have 180 days after Dec. 27 to receive it. They recommend ticket holders to check their tickets on their website at Idaholottery.com.
"This year's Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle generated over $1.6 million for the Idaho Lottery's beneficiaries, Idaho public schools and buildings," the Idaho Lottery said.
