PAYETTE, Idaho — Three people were rescued early Friday morning after they were injured in a UTV accident in remote Payette County.
The Payette County Sheriff's Office said on Friday, officials received a report at 10:30 p.m. on July 4 that three people were involved in a UTV wreck near Dry Creek Road and Little Willow Road. The crash happened after the driver attempted to go up a steep hill and crashed.
The sheriff's office said finding the crash site was difficult because of the steep terrain. A St. Luke's helicopter found the three injured people around 3 a.m. and flew two out with "critical injuries." The third was taken out of the area by UTV.
One of the three injured was ejected from the UTV during the crash, but it isn't clear who it was.
The condition of the three people is unknown at this time.
The agencies who assisted in the rescue were the Payette County Sheriff's Office, Washington County Sheriff's Office, Payette Police Department, Payette Rural Fire Department, New Plymouth Rural Fire Department, Sand Hollow Rural Fire Department and Air St. Luke's.
