BOISE, Idaho — Nestled away in one of Boise's most historic buildings, is the capital city's newest drinking lounge, 8 Horses Lounge.
The lounge is the brainchild of longtime Boise restauranteurs Cameron and Amada Lumsden - owners of Fork and Àlavita.
"We're so thrilled to introduce Boise to our newest endeavor, 8 Horses Lounge. The rich history of the space under Fork has always intrigued us and was the perfect canvas for the creation of 8 Horses Lounge," said the Lumsden's.
Located in the basement of the historic 805 West Idaho building, 8 Horses Lounge is tucked away in the old vault of what was formerly the Boise City National Bank.
The name of the lounge aptly fits the locale. According to a news release, it took a team of eight horses to cart the 14,000 pounds of sandstone blocks from Table Rock Quarry to build the structure's entire five-story façade. To this day, the vault door remains as a piece of history, creating a unique vibe for some unique drinks.
"We hope Boise will love the change as much as we do. From the original 15-ton vault door, hidden wine vault, and assorted seating areas throughout, there's many chances for conversation while enjoying a cocktail," the Lumsden's added of the intimate environment.
The establishment opened to the public Wednesday, June 5.
