BOISE, Idaho — The Ada County Sheriff's Office announced the memorial service for Deputy Tobin Bolter will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the Ford Idaho Center in Nampa.
The 27-year-old deputy died Sunday after he was shot during a traffic stop Saturday night in Boise. Several organizations, law enforcement agencies and community members have honored Bolter with local candlelight vigils, memorials and fundraisers since his passing.
Tuesday's indoor service is closed to the general public and media, reserved for Bolter's family, friends and the law enforcement community. The Ada County Sheriff's Office said the public is invited to watch its live stream of the service in the Ford Idaho Center's outdoor amphitheater or online.
KTVB Channel 7 plans to stream Deputy Bolter's service at 3 p.m. Tuesday on KTVB.COM, KTVB+ on Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV, the KTVB YouTube channel and the KTVB mobile app.
An Ada County Sheriff's Office spokesperson said it plans to release information on the police procession, venue entrances and parking for the memorial service on Friday. ACSO also said it anticipates "hundreds and hundreds of marked units from all over" to participate in the procession.
The community is encouraged to line the procession route Tuesday in support of the young deputy and his family.
Benjie Wells, Tobin's father-in-law, shared a heartfelt message Thursday on "The man of God to whom I gave my daughter." The full Facebook post is included below:
