ADA COUNTY, Idaho — The Ada County Highway District is seeking input from the community for upcoming projects within its 2025-2029 Integrated Five Year Work Plan.
The Integrated Five Year Work Plan is the outline for ACHD to determine the projects and priorities it will work on in the next half decade. According to ACHD, the first two years of the plan are aligning with its budget, but the goal of the plan is to allow for elected officials, staff, other agencies and the public to work together to implement projects.
ACHD is now in the public comment period for the upcoming five-year plan, which is a chance for Ada County residents to tell the highway district what projects are important.
This is also the time to request new projects people would like the Ada County Highway District to consider, such as crosswalks, bike routes and sidewalks. Public comments can be sent to ACHD's platform, EngagementHQ, where residents can also find a map and the survey.
The current comment period will be open until Feb. 9, and is one of several chances Ada County residents will have to chat with ACHD about the Integrated Five Year Work Plan. A draft of the plan will be available this summer, after it has been presented to ACHD Commission.
"Planning road projects for six cities and the unincorporated county is a substantial effort," ACHD Planning Supervisor Kristy Inselman said. "We rely heavily on feedback from the public as we identify projects that will shape the future of our transportation network."
