COUNCIL, Idaho — The Adams County Commissioners declared a state of emergency due to heavy rain and flooding across the county.

County commissioners made the decision late Tuesday night and closed off nearly a dozen roads around the county due to flooding, with more that are underwater but aren't close, yet.

The City Councils of New Meadows and Council made Emergency Declarations to county commissioners in addition to the countywide emergency declaration.

County officials urge drivers to use extreme caution when driving near or in roads that are flooded, as only a few inches of water can wash a vehicle downstream and the roads may be washed out.
