Alaska Airlines adds flights from Boise to California, Florida vacation spots

Travelers can catch a flight from the City of Trees to Bozeman, Santa Ana and Orlando starting this winter.

BOISE, Idaho — Alaska Airlines on Wednesday announced 18 new nonstop routes, including three in and out of Boise to popular vacation destinations and a neighboring state.

Starting in December, travelers can take a flight from the City of Trees to Bozeman, Montana, north of Yellowstone National Park. Alaska's new winter-seasonal service starts Thursday, Dec. 19, and runs through March 17, 2025. The route to Montana is set to soar five times a week.

A new year-round service offers Idahoans the chance to fly to the Santa Ana Airport in Orange County, California, located near Disneyland in Anaheim. The daily flight also starts Dec. 19 at the Boise Airport. Allegiant Air currently provides service between BOI and Santa Ana.

Alaska Airlines' second seasonal addition spotlights the sunshine on the East Coast, taking travelers from Boise to Orlando, the home of Disney World and Universal Studios Florida. The new route is scheduled to begin Jan. 7, 2025 and continue until March 25, 2025, with flights three times a week.

Boise Airport Director Rebecca Hupp applauded Wednesday's announcement from Alaska Airlines in a statement to KTVB Channel 7, highlighting the carrier's investment in Idaho's capital city.

"Our community has demonstrated strong demand for a nonstop flight to Orlando, and we are delighted that Alaska is launching this seasonal route to meet that need," Rupp said. "Additionally, the timing for the new seasonal nonstop flight to Bozeman, MT is ideal, perfect for planning your winter getaway. This announcement also includes a new nonstop route to Orange County, CA, along with increased frequencies on existing routes to Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Portland, Spokane, and more. These welcome additions are significant as we work to meet the needs of our traveling public and the Treasure Valley's growing population."

The Boise Airport is served by nine airlines, offering nonstop flights to 28 different locations. BOI said tickets for the three new flights are expected to go on sale Wednesday evening on alaskaair.com

Alaska Airlines also announced its first-ever service to Vail, Colorado, from San Diego and Seattle, a new nonstop service from San Diego to Reno, and a nonstop service from Los Angeles to Kelowna, British Columbia. Click here for more information on Alaska's new 18 nonstop routes.
