Same day delivery options coming to Treasure Valley as Amazon opens new warehouse

Amazon’s newest location will serve as a rapid delivery warehouse where many items will be available to customers within 5 hours.

NAMPA, Idaho — Amazon held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their new, same day delivery operation in Nampa.

The facility is designed to be a hub for general merchandise that could be delivered to your door in as little as five hours.

When you order things like dog food or diapers, they will be housed there, processed and delivered to you within a day.
In addition to more goods, the facility is expected to add around 400 full and part-time jobs.

Nampa Mayor Debbie Kling said this is a wonderful boost to the economy.

"Providing so many jobs, so many part time jobs, with flexibility to deliver but also the education benefits that are provided by Amazon for their employees that may not stay with Amazon long term but giving great educational opportunities through the company," said Kling.

The new warehouse is expected to benefit around 2,000 small businesses in Idaho by offering their goods to more people faster.

Kling commented on Amazon’s commitment to the communities they serve as well.

"I love Amazon's give back into the community. They're giving back both financially and contribution supporting our nonprofits and other functions within our community, but the jobs and the education and the service they're providing is great for our community," Kling said.

At the ribbon cutting event Amazon donated $25,000 dollars to Donors Choice and Idaho Schools.

Donors Choice is an organization where teachers post what they need the most, the public helps fund the needs, and then the materials are sent directly to the teachers.
