Arkansas man headed to prison after Boise motel drug bust
Jeffery Ash

BOISE -- An Arkansas man who was arrested last fall after showing a Boise motel clerk a photo of his genitals on his cell phone is headed to prison for at least three years for trafficking marijuana.

Jeffrey Ash, 54, of Fayetteville, Ark., was arrested on Nov. 20, 2012, on charges of indecent exposure and drug trafficking. When police went to his motel room they smelled the odor of marijuana. A search of the room turned up two duffel bags with more than 25 pounds of the drug.

Prosecutors say Ash was very cooperative with police investigators. Ash admitted he was taking the marijuana from Oregon to Arkansas, and was being paid $400 per pound to transport it.

On Tuesday, 4th District Judge Richard Greenwood sentenced to four years in prison. He will be eligible for parole after serving three years behind bars.

Prosecutors agreed to drop the indecent exposure charge in exchange for the guilty plea.
