Armed robbery suspect in hospital following shooting with Boise Police

Police provided medical care until Ada County Paramedics were able to arrive and transport the suspect to the hospital.

BOISE, Idaho — According to the Boise Police Department (BPD), an armed robbery suspect is now in the hospital after they allegedly fled the scene.

At roughly 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, BPD responded to a 911 call of armed robbery at a business on West Fairview Avenue and North McKinney Street.

KTVB learned Wednesday from a store manager that Adam and Eve is the business on West Fairview Avenue near North McKinney Street where Boise Police officers responded to reports of an armed robbery.

The store manager from Adam and Eve also stated that two women were working at the store when a man in all black with a black mask walked into the store, made the girls give him money from the register, and left in a quick process.

The suspect fled and officers were able to locate a car matching the suspect's car. The car was seen just north of Fairview Avenue on Cole Road. Officers tried to stop the car. The driver pulled over at one point, but continued to drive away as officers approached. Police were able to get a possible description of the suspect, and stopped pursuing them at that time.

Shortly after that, the car was seen again on Cole Road and Ustick Road. The suspect left the car and was seen jumping a fence into a backyard.

The owner of the home on Wednesday told KTVB, "the officers took great care of us, I will say, like everything went as smooth as you as it could go."

The resident said one of their security cameras alerted them that someone entered his family's property. He stated that they were also able to hear footsteps.

The resident also said police arrived to the scene almost immediately and entered the house while the residents stayed safe in the bathroom.

His statement aligned with BPD's confirming that he heard the police trying to warn the suspect to lower his weapon. The family was unable to see what happened from their safe spot in the house.

A nearby neighbor also said a message from the Ada County Sheriff's Office was sent to some residents in the community after 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The neighbor said the message stated that the armed robber was a white male wearing all black, which closely aligns with the description from the store manager who said he was wearing all black with a black mask

Police contained the area of the backyard and notified nearby residents.

While trying to make contact with the suspect, officers fired shots at the suspect. Two Boise Police officers fired their weapons, injuring the suspect. Police then deployed a K-9 on the suspect, so they could safely approach.

Medical aid was provided to the suspect by officers, before Ada County Paramedics transported the suspect to a local hospital.

No officers were injured in the incident. BPD said the two that fired shots will be placed on administrative leave, per policy.

The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF), led by Meridian Police, is investigating the shooting, and more information will become available at a later date.
