Armed robbery suspect in hospital following shooting with Boise Police

Police provided medical care until Ada County Paramedics were able to arrive and transport the suspect to the hospital.

BOISE, Idaho — According to the Boise Police Department (BPD), an armed robbery suspect is now in the hospital after they allegedly fled the scene.

At roughly 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24, BPD responded to a 911 call of armed robbery at a business on West Fairview Avenue and North McKinney Street.

The suspect fled and officers were able to locate a car matching the suspect's car. The car was seen just north of Fairview Avenue on Cole Road. Officers tried to stop the car. The driver pulled over at one point, but continued to drive away as officers approached. Police were able to get a possible description of the suspect, and stopped pursuing them at that time.

Shortly after that, the car was seen again on Cole Road and Ustick Road. The suspect left the car and was seen jumping a fence into a backyard.

Police contained the area of the backyard and notified nearby residents.

While trying to make contact with the suspect, officers fired shots at the suspect. Two Boise Police officers fired their weapons, injuring the suspect. Police then deployed a K-9 on the suspect, so they could safely approach.

Medical aid was provided to the suspect by officers, before Ada County Paramedics transported the suspect to a local hospital.

No officers were injured in the incident. The two that fired shots will be placed on administrative leave, per policy, said BPD.

The Ada County Critical Incident Task Force (CITF), led by Meridian Police, is investigating the shooting, and more information will become available at a later date.
