BOISE - A man found dead in a submerged pickup in Arrowrock Reservoir Sunday evening was under investigation for arson in Boise, the Boise County Sheriff's Office has confirmed.
The body of 47-year-old Mark Miller was found Sunday.
Boise Police Spokesperson Lynn Hightower has said that police believe Miller purposely set his own house on fire on East Flores Court in Boise's Columbia Village neighborhood and put the lives of firefighters in danger.
Chief Deputy Dale Rogers told KTVB that two paddleboarders spotted the pickup in Arrowrock Reservoir Sunday afternoon and notified the marine deputy. Four more deputies were then sent to the scene.
One of the deputies, who had scuba gear, dove underwater to get a closer look.
A wrecker pulled out the pickup with the body inside.
Rogers says it appears the body had been in the reservoir for more than a week.
