BOISE, Idaho — An ATV rider was rescued Friday afternoon after they rolled off the 8th Street Extension trailhead in the Boise Foothills into a drainage.
According to the Boise Fire Department, around 3 p.m., first responders were dispatched to rescue the ATV rider, who was 150 feet down in a drainage. The rescue was made difficult due to the steep hill, so rescuers needed to utilize a rope system to get the rider back to the road.
Bosie Fire stated that after rescuing the rider, it and the Ada County Paramedics provided them first aid. Due to their "traumatic injuries," they flew the the rider to the hospital in an air ambulance.
"Strong work by the crews from Boise Fire, Ada County Paramedics, and Life Flight for quickly working together to find, package and transport the patient to get him the care he needs," Boise Fire stated.
The condition of the rider is unknown.
