The Ada County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an inmate at the Idaho State Correctional Institution south of Boise.
The Idaho Department of Correction in a statement Thursday says it requested the investigation following the death of 31-year-old Jedadiah Daniel Guild.
Officials say medical staff at the 1,446-bed men's prison tried to revive Guild after he suffered a seizure at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, but he died about 45 minutes later.
Guild has been incarcerated since 2007 and has been eligible for parole since January 2013. He was scheduled to be discharged in November 2020.
Officials say Guild's criminal record includes convictions in Ada County for aggravated assault, attempted strangulation, grand theft and domestic assault or battery.
