Big shakeup in Boise TV market, Fox switching channels

BOISE -- A major shakeup for viewers of American Idol and Glee is coming.

According toMarieMcGlynn, VP and General Manager of KNIN,Channel 12, KTRV, will no longer be the Fox affiliate in Boise.

Foxis moving to Channel 9, which is owned by Journal Broadcast Group, the same company that owns Channel 6.

McGlynn says Fox Broadcasting has signed an agreement with Journal to carry Fox programming and sports. No switch date has been set yet.

KTRV's affiliationwith Fox expired in August 2010. In a statement, KTRV said it will remain a Fox affiliate until August 31.

The CW's contract with KNIN is set to end in August.

KNIN will be branded as Fox9. It will carry Fox prime time programming, Fox Sports and the animated block of TV shows that airs on Sunday night.

Officials saythere has been no decision made about what type of news programming viewers might see on KNIN.
