BOISE, Idaho — Belated winter snowfall in the Treasure Valley is bringing an extra week of joy to skiers and snowboarders.
Due to late-season snowfall of upwards of 12 inches, Bogus Basin decided to stay open through April 14, close for one week, and reopen for a final hoorah the following weekend of April 20.
“Winter 2023-24 stands out as one of the most rewarding and satisfying seasons of my career," Bogus Basin General Manager Brad Wilson said. Our team united to overcome early season challenges, deliver exceptional on-mountain experiences, and have fun while engaging and deepening connections with the community.”
According to a news release on Friday from Bogus Basin, the extra weekend will be filled with live music and their popular annual pond skim. Bogus Basin states that the event will feature skiers and riders who wear "wild and wacky costumes" and ski down at high speeds toward a small pond in an attempt to cross it.
The pond skim will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.
