Bogus Basin to host job fair, filling 500 seasonal positions

Bogus Basin is holding a job fair on Saturday where job seekers can meet with mountain managers and learn more about working for the nonprofit recreation area.

BOISE, Idaho — Bogus Basin is holding a job fair to fill 500 full and part-time positions, Saturday October 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their downtown sales office at 2600 N. Bogus Basin Road.

General Manager Brad Wilson said they are looking for people that want to be in the great outdoors.

"We're looking for people that are excited to be up on the mountain take advantage of how close we are to skiing and snowboarding in Nordic and just somebody who either wants to be outside and participate or just wants to be part of a nonprofit mountain recreation area," Wilson said.

Open positions like lift operators, ticket sales associates and ski and snowboard instructors are available.

In addition to employment benefits, staff can enjoy an all-access season pass, free transportation up and down the mountain, and discounts on mountain merchandise.

Wilson said a position they are always looking to fill is instructors.

"You know, we always are looking for more ski instructors. So, if you know how to ski or snowboard, you don't need to be an expert, but we'd love to have you come up and apply, and we'll take you through, you know, the learning process and teach you how to be a teacher, and that's a great way to get better at skiing and snowboarding, and also have really terrific interactions with people that want to learn the sport," said Wilson.

Wilson also mentioned interested candidates can apply for positions online before coming to the interview.

Bogus Basin is expected to open for skiing and snowboarding the weekend before Thanksgiving for the winter season.
