BOISE, Idaho — After 50 years, Bogus Basin is replacing the Bitterroot and Coach chairlift towers and auctioning them off. Just in time for the summer season, the chairlifts are being replaced with a highspeed-Skytrac 4-person lift.
Bogus Basin previously reported that the previous two-person lift had long lines on the Coach Chairlift and the Bitterroot Chairlift. This called for a replacement to keep up with the growth of the resort.
The new chairlifts are designed to make loading and unloading easier. It will also take riders to a new section of terrain that is three times as long the current Coach's Corner run.
On Wednesday, Bogus Basin shared a video on social media of the deconstruction of the towers with the chairlift action underway. The auction for the historic Coach and Bitterroot lifts is open until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 11.
As of now, the resort has not announced when they will be ready for summer season to show off their new lifts. Click here to register, bid or view items in the auction.
