BOISE, Idaho — As Bogus Basin began its summer activities in June, officials recollected the 2024 winter season and shared data and highlights.
According to the nonprofit, the season began with dry conditions and a lack of snow. However, their snowmaking team enabled them to continue operations, and they broke their record for the most visitors in a season this year. The mountain received 432,289 total visitors and 255 inches of snowfall.
Bogus Basin also said on January 7, it saw the most people for the season, with 9,400 visitors. That is the second most visited day in its history.
Mountain officials said on December 25, the snowmaking team worked 58 hours straight, transforming 5 million gallons of water into snow for skiers. They also said they were last to close and extended the season a few weeks to "providing an exceptional on-mountain guest experience rather than profits."
Bogus Basin also highlighted the two new quad chairlifts that will replace the historic Coach and Bitterroot chairlifts. The new chairlifts are designed to make loading and unloading easier. It will also take riders to a new section of terrain that is three times as long the current Coach's Corner run.
