BOISE, Idaho — Snowboarders and Skiers will need to wait one more day to hit the slopes as Bogus Basin is pushing back its opening day.
Bogus Basin said that the decision to open Saturday, Nov. 25 allows for an extra day for snowmaking, helping to ensure ideal conditions for snow enthusiasts.
"Temperatures are expected to drop Thursday, allowing us to begin making snow around the clock. This extra day of snowmaking will contribute to a better experience for our guests and allow us to open more terrain soon," Nate Shake, Director, Mountain Operations said.
Per Bogus Basin's website, the plan for Thanksgiving Weekend allows guests to ride Coach Chairlift, Easy Rider Carpet, and Explorer Carpet on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Valid passes for the opening weekend are True Bogus, Beyond Bogus, and Anytime Winter passes. Midweek and Night season passes are not eligible and Twilight Season passes are only eligible from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the release stated.
Day tickets cost $15 and are available for sale at the Downtown Sales Office and Simplot Lodge Mountain Ticket Office this weekend. The Downtown Sales Office will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
For food options, Bogus Creek Grill, located within J.R. Simplot Lodge, will have a limited menu. JR's T-Bar will have a full beverage service, the release stated.
Following the opening for Thanksgiving weekend, Bogus will close for midweek operations, and expect a full reopen the following weekend.
