Boise Fire Department releases community survey for public's input

The community survey will help Boise Fire build its 10-year master plan. The survey runs through March 25 and is offered in both English and Spanish.

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Fire Department (BFD) announced it released a community survey Thursday in an effort to receive feedback on the department.

BFB said residents are encouraged to share their opinions on the department to help Boise Fire build a 10-year master plan and a strategic plan. The community survey runs through March 25 and is offered in both English and Spanish.

"The Boise Fire Department takes great pride in providing the best possible service to our community," Boise Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer said. "In order to continue executing our mission, 'Serve the Community with Professionalism and Pride,' it is important we stay focused on the needs of our community."

In addition to BFD's community survey, the department also released a survey for City of Boise leaders and Boise Fire partners and a third survey for employees.

The Boise Fire Department said the three surveys will be used to evaluate the department's satisfaction level and help craft BFD's 10-year plan and strategic plan for the department's future. The combined input will also be used to discover the community's knowledge of what services BFD offers and what department priorities are suggested.

"One-Team/One-Mission is more than just a catchphrase; it's a culture of excellence," Niemeyer said. "Each of the groups targeted in our survey plays a role in that excellence, and your input is both needed and valued. Once we have the survey results, we will present our findings back to the public and address areas where we can continue to improve our organization in a way that is meaningful to the public we serve."

The community survey is also available on the Boise Fire Department's Facebook page.
