For the second time in two months, the city of Boise has celebrated the opening of a new fire station.
Fire Station 4 is on Ustick Road between Milwaukee Street and Maple Grove Road.
It's now home to an engine, a ladder truck and a battalion chief.
The new station number 4 is in the same location as the old one.
New Boise fire station opens
At today's grand opening, Boise Fire Chief Dennis Doan talked about what's different.
“The old one was built in the late 60s and it doesn't even compare," Doan said. "It was small, it didn't have gender equity and this one does, so this one is a sustainable project and we are excited to have it."
The truck company based out of station 4 will specialize in force-able entry, extrication, and search and rescue.
