Boise Fire looking into arson after house fire

Crews responded to the fire that broke out at around 4 a.m. near Fairview Ave. and Cloverdale Road.
Boise Fire investigators say someone may have set a home on fire intentionally Tuesday morning.

BOISE -- Boise firefighters are investigating a house fire that broke out Tuesday morning.

Crews from Boise and Meridian responded to the fire that broke out in an abandoned home at around 4 a.m. near Fairview Avenue and Cloverdale Road.

The fire then spread to some grass. Firefighters were able to stop the flames from spreading to a nearby trailer park.

Boise Fire investigators suspect someone may have set the fire intentionally.

Aaron Hummel with the Boise Fire Department said, "We did have a trailer fire a number of weeks ago here just west of this location and it was classified as an arson fire. And then we had a grass fire a few weeks ago in the same field behind us, so, that's why we called for the investigators."

Hummel says crews will be out today and tomorrow to continue trying to investigate the cause.
