BOISE, Idaho — A woman was taken to the hospital after she jumped into the Boise River, floated about 100 yards and was able to swim back to shore.
According to Boise Fire Communications Manager, Lynsey Amundson, on Monday, May 6, around 6 p.m. crews went to the area of the Boise River near Hwy 21 and Warm Springs Ave., because of receiving a call about a woman jumping in.
Amundson told KTVB responders evaluated the woman's condition, and she was taken to the hospital. No information was given as to why she jumped in.
Although the weather is warmer, the river is still quite cold and fast, and officials have warned people to stay out at this time.
KTVB will update the story as information becomes available.
