The report outlines how the city is working to achieve livability through seven community targeted goals: Safe and Secure Community, Healthy Community, Responsible Built Environment, Connected Community, Environmentally Sustainable Community, Strong, Diverse Local Economy, and Creative and informed Community.
The report outlines initiatives the city has launched to obtain each one of the targeted goals.
“It's pretty timely in the conversations we're having around the community about growth and what livability means. We hope this will help provide some context to that conversation about what we're doing here at the City of Boise in order to manage growth in this community in order to protect the things that make Boise so special,” said Boise spokesman Mike Journee.
The livability report is released every two years with the next one scheduled to be released in 2020.
