BOISE, Idaho — A 31-year-old man from Boise was arrested Saturday and is facing several criminal charges, including three felonies, in connection to a gang-related shooting.
Kenneth Enger, whom police state is a "documented gang member," shot at an occupied apartment building Friday, according to Boise Police Department (BPD).
No one was injured in the shooting.
On Nov. 24, Boise police officers were dispatched to an apartment complex on the 1700 block of S. Curtis Road for reports of shots having been fired.
At the scene, officers found multiple holes in the exterior of the apartment. After an investigation, Boise police identified Enger as the suspect in the shooting. He was arrested the following day without incident.
In a news release, BPD stated that during the arrest Enger, a convicted felon, was in possession of a firearm.
"Gang violence is a complex and devastating problem that many communities across the United States have unfortunately lost control over," said Boise Police Department Captain Jim Quackenbush. "We will not tolerate this behavior in the Treasure Valley and will continue to take a proactive stance against it, alongside our other regional law enforcement partners."
Enger is charged with the following:
- Conspiracy to commit aggravated assault (F)
- Enhancement – use of a deadly weapon in commission of a felony (F)
- Unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (F)
- Failure to appear (M)
"I am grateful to our officers, many of whom possess specialized expertise and have taken on additional duties to appropriately intervene and keep our communities among the safest and the most livable in the country," Quackenbush said. "It is because of their dedication that we were able to quickly identify this suspect and safely take him into custody."
