Police investigating deadly single-vehicle crash in southeast Boise

Boise Police said evidence indicates the man went off Lake Forest Drive, before his vehicle crossed over a berm, hit a tree and collided with a fence.

BOISE, Idaho — The Boise Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left a man dead early Friday morning, according to a news release.

Early evidence indicates the man was driving fast as he traveled east on Lake Forest Drive, when the vehicle went off the road in southeast Boise. Police said the vehicle likely went over a berm, hit a large tree and collided with a fence near South Impatiens Place.

Officers and other first responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the man died at the scene. Boise Police said he was the only person involved in the single-vehicle crash and the investigation is ongoing.

The Ada County Coroner's Office will identify the man after his family is notified.

Police responded to South Impatiens Place around 1:25 a.m. Friday. The Boise Fire Department also arrived at the scene with extrication equipment, along with Ada County Paramedics and the Boise Police Reconstruction Team.
