BOISE, Idaho — As Boise State's first home game of the season comes up this weekend, the Boise Police Department (BPD) posted reminders for a safe game day experience:
- Do Not Drink and Drive: Make sure to arrange for a designated driver or use alternative transportation if you plan to consume alcohol.
- Alcohol Consumption: If you choose to drink, do so only in designated areas. The 10 to 10 Zone is in effect for home games.
- Open Containers: Public areas outside the 10 to 10 Zone, including parking lots and neighborhood streets, do not permit open containers of alcohol. Officers will be vigilant for underage drinking and adults providing alcohol to minors.
- Be Respectful: Use crosswalks, dispose of litter properly, and be considerate of neighbors and businesses.
- Parking: Park legally and safely to avoid tickets or towing. Follow all posted signs and regulations.
- Bag Policy: To expedite stadium entry, please leave bags at home as Boise State enforces a clear bag policy.
This season, BPD is enforcing a "10 to 10 Zone" in the area around the stadium that permits alcohol consumption from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on home game days in the area outlined below:
Boise Police note that only opaque plastic cups are allowed while glass containers, cans and labeled bottles are prohibited.
BPD also gives some parking reminders by stating that parking is available on a first-come, first-serve basis on Boise State Campus. Parking will be available in both of the parking garages on campus as well as the Grant lots. Parking is also available downtown and there is a free Game Day Shuttle that will take fans to and from Albertsons Stadium. Fans will be able to park in the neighborhoods but must be able to do it legally and will be towed if not. Fans will also be allowed to park in city parks but must also be parked legally. Park parking is free and first-come, first-serve but must move by 9 a.m., the following morning.
