MERIDIAN - A Boise State men's lacrosse coach was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with enticing a child over the internet.
Meridian Police arrested 50-year-old Paul Rocchio after an investigation. He was booked into the Ada County Jail with a charge of enticing of children over the internet, which is a felony.
Meridian Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea said for about a month, Rocchio was contacting someone he believed to be a girl under the age of 16 over the internet.
Basterrechea said Rocchio had conversations with the person that quickly became sexual.
He says Rocchio had agreed to meet with the girl Friday at Settler's Park, but was instead met by an undercover police officer.
Rocchio, who is the co-head coach of the lacrosse team, has been with the team since 2010.
Lacrosse is a club sport at Boise State.
