BOISE -- Boise State University officially welcomed hundreds of new students and their families at convocation Friday.
As part of the tradition, students take their first steps together in a ceremonial walk through campus to the blue turf, then fill in the outline of the "B" logo.
The moment is locked in place with a commemorative class photo.
Approximately 2,500 students moved into on campus housing and residence halls Friday morning before attending convocation.
Fall classes officially begin Monday.
