BOISE, Idaho — A Boise woman died after they were involved in a head-on collision with a semi-truck Friday night on I-84 in Payette County.
Idaho State Police reported, around 10:05 p.m. a 46-year-old woman from Boise was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo, and she entered I-84 the wrong way on the off-ramp and began driving west on the eastbound lane.
A 2023 Volvo semi-truck with a trailer was heading eastbound on I-84. ISP stated the truck was unable to avoid the Chevrolet and crashed head-on.
ISP reported the Boise woman died at the scene. She was not wearing her seat belt.
The 57-year-old man from Salida, California, who was driving the semi-truck was not taken to the hospital. ISP said he was wearing his seat belt.
Police said the I-84 was blocked for roughly five hours to allow first responders to assist those involved. Friday's crash is currently under investigation by Idaho State Police.
