CHEMULT, Ore. - A Boise woman died in a head-on crash in west-central Oregon Sunday morning, Oregon State Police said.
The crash happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Highway 97, 10 miles south of town of Chemult. According to investigators, the driver of a Honda Pilot drifted across the center line and hit a Toyota Matrix head-on.
The driver of the Toyota, 27-year-old Melissa Kay Gibson, of Boise, died at the scene. A 22-year-old passenger in Gibson's car was taken to a Klamath Falls hospital.
The Honda's driver, 19-year-old Elizabeth Brown, of Klamath Falls, was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say fatigue is a possible factor in the crash.
The highway was closed for about an hour and half while police worked to clear the scene.
