BOISE -- Police say a 26-year-old Idaho woman released from prison in March after serving time for vehicular manslaughter has been jailed on suspicion of drunken driving.

Ada County records show Patience Smith, of Boise, was jailed at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday. She faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence and a felony parole violation.

Police say officers pulled Smith over for a broken tail light and smelled alcohol. Police say Smith's blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.

Smith is on probation following a 2006 conviction for vehicular manslaughter in Lemhi County, where police say a passenger in her car was killed during a crash that involved alcohol.
