BOISE, Idaho — Boise's Mayor McLean has announced the recipients of Boise's 2025 Neighborhood Investment Awards.
The Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) is a partnership between the City of Boise and good-standing neighborhood communities. The program helps fund capital construction projects with the goal to "enrich the lives of residents, enhance the identity of our neighborhoods and encourage a strong sense of community," a news release from the mayor's office said.
"Boise's neighborhoods are truly the connective tissue of our city. They instill a sense of place and belonging and contribute to the creation of a safe and welcoming community," said Mayor McLean. "I am proud of the commitment our neighbors make every year to one another and to our city. Investments like these improve the quality of each neighborhood and result in meaningful improvements for our residents."
This year's goal was to focus on bike-pedestrian safety, which is in response to the increase in crashes between cars, bikes and pedestrians.
Eight projects were selected, totaling $364,504 in funds. The news release said that the types of projects will include bike fix-it-stations and corrals, unique signage for unique neighborhoods and other amenities.
