BOISE, Idaho — The Free Wheelchair Mission has provided over 1.4 million wheelchairs to people in need around the world. The nonprofit said that 80 million people are still in need of wheelchairs. Calvary Boise is hosting an event with the nonprofit to help them reach their goal.

"For over 23 years, Free Wheelchair Mission has provided the life-changing gift of mobility to 1.4 million people across 94 developing countries. Our long-standing relationship with supporters in Idaho, including George Hage, has been instrumental in our efforts. George has led the Idaho Believes initiative, which is currently on a mission to provide one wheelchair for every seat at Albertsons Stadium, home of the Boise State University Broncos—a total of 36,387 wheelchairs," a news release stated.

The event is Friday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at Calvary Boise. There will be an appearance by the founder of the nonprofit, Don Schoendorfer, snacks, music and testimonials from people who have received wheelchairs.
