Boulder Fire evacuations updated, Zone 6 in 'GO' status

The Valley County Sheriff's Office issued a "Go" evacuation notice for Zones 4 and 5. They included Zone 6 on Monday, at roughly 2 p.m.

CASCADE, Idaho — The Valley County Sheriff's Office announced on Tuesday, Sept. 10 new evacuation orders for the Boulder/Lava Fire area near Cascade. 

According to a Facebook post from Valley County Sheriff's Office, the evacuation status and road closures as as follows: 

  • Below is an overview of all zones and their current evacuation status:
  • *Please note, the status can change at any time. Please prepare your home and belongings and be ready for an evacuation if needed. These orders are intended to give our community as much time to prepare as possible.
  • ROAD ACCESS UPDATES
    • West Mountain Road | If you are in a “READY” or “SET” status for the #boulderfire, you can still access your homes through Donnelly. West Mountain Road is closed for zones 4, 5 & 6. From West Mountain and Cabarton, north to West Mountain just north of Hurd Creek.
    • Elk Creek Summit Road | CLOSED from Edwardsburg to the south fork of Smiths Creek.
    • Warm Lake Road | Will be open today for homeowners and contractors (those who are on the "list"). Pilots will run today 7am - 6pm. This could change quickly depending on fire behavior. 
    • High Valley/Sage Hen | the road into Sage Hen is closed, access to High Valley is still open.

The Valley County Sheriff's Office issued a "Go" evacuation for people in Zone 6 for the Boulder Fire near Cascade, as of 2:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9. 

Zones 4 and 5 are also still in "Go" evacuation orders, according to Valley County Sheriff's Office. 

Zone 7, 8 and 9 are all in "SET" orders.

"A codeRED was just sent to zones 4 and 5, all residents in these two zones are on GO evacuation as of now.  Our deputies will be going into the area and notifying residents.  Expect more information as we receive it from West Mountain Fires complex.  Expect roadblocks at some point," stated the sheriff's office.

The office said the fire is growing rapidly and updates will be sudden. People can call dispatch at 208-382-5160 for more information.
