BOISE, Idaho — With a Mountain West Championship secured, the Boise State Broncos have punched their ticket to the LA Bowl.
Now, it's time for Bronco fans to book their tickets to travel from the Gem State to the Golden State to cheer on BSU in the City of Angels.
Harmon Travel is a local travel agency that offers Bronco fans travel packages for the team's big games. Their president, Bob Harmon, said they've been sending members of Bronco Nation to bowl games for decades.
"For such a great matchup, to get a lineup with UCLA - it's got to be exciting," Harmon said.
For the LA Bowl, Harmon Travel is offering a package for fans that includes flights, transportation, and a two-night stay in downtown Los Angeles to cheer on the Broncos.
Harmon is expecting a pretty good response from Bronco fans, with added excitement around the team hiring Spencer Danielson as head coach - after he became the first interim coach in college football history to win a conference championship game.
"Our groups that went to Vegas for the championship game yesterday just came back so excited, and then to have that news on top of it - I'm really thrilled that [Danielson] was the choice," Harmon said.
Boise State fans making the trek to Los Angeles can have a lot to look forward to, including the SoCal sun.
"You've always got the California weather that is going to be an improvement on whatever we've got going here in December," Harmon said. "And the new SoFi Stadium, another opportunity for the Broncos to play a big game in an NFL arena."
Another reason for fans to make the trip is because their impact in the stands can make an impact on the team.
"It just all breeds increased excitement amongst the fans, and I'm sure that transcends to the players," Harmon said. "I know that they've got to feel it when the fans are in the stadium and loud and supporting them. So it's all just part of the whole show in the game, and one piece can't do it without the other."
Boise State is set to face UCLA in the 2023 Starco Brands LA Bowl Hosted By Gronk at SoFi Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 16. The contest kicks off at 5:30 p.m. MT (4:30 p.m. PT) on ABC.
