BOISE, Idaho — Skiers rejoice as Brundage Mountain Resort announced Friday they will be opening the mountain all week.
According to the resort officials beginning on Dec. 16, they will begin operating three chairlifts all week long. The chairlifts are Bluebird Express, Bear Chair, and Easy Street Lifts.
Officials addressed that with early season snow conditions, there is limited snow grooming on paths. They recommend skiers check their website to see snow conditions before heading up to the mountain.
However, the 45th Parallel and Temptation runs will be fully groomed for skiers of all levels to enjoy. But, the Sidewinder and Alpine runs will be ungroomed and it's suggested for "Experts-only powder riding."
Officials report 15 inches of snow at the base and 31 at the summit of the mountain. They said they will be opening additional terrain as the weather permits.
"Our team has been working tirelessly to create the best snow surfaces possible," said Brundage Mountain Resort General Manager, Ken Rider. "We wish Mother Nature was giving us more help, but we are very proud of the hard work our team has put in to offer top-to-bottom riding on three chairlifts. We will continue to look for every opportunity possible to open more terrain and additional lifts."
