LEWISTON, Idaho — After a bull moose was found poached and wasted along Zaza Road in the Craig Mountain Wildlife Management Area, Idaho Fish and Game (IDFG) is looking for the public's help to identify who shot the moose.
Fish and Game says the moose was likely shot with a rifle on or around Nov. 29.
IDFG said that moose are considered a trophy species in Idaho, and nobody can hunt more than one antlered and one antlerless moose in their lifetime. No moose tags were issued for the Craig Mountain area where the moose was found dead.
If you have any information, you can call the Idaho Citizen's Against Poaching Hotline at 1-800-632-5999 or Conservation Officer John McLain at 208-827-1488. Fish and Game says callers will remain anonymous and can be eligible for a reward.
