IDAHO CITY -- Rumors have been swirling that the food bank in Idaho City, which operates inside the Boise Basin Senior Center, would be shutting down with just over two weeks to go to Thanksgiving.
About 60 families rely on that particular food bank and Cinda Heron, a coordinator at the senior center, wanted to set the record straight today.
"It's not being shut down," said Heron. "It's not being moved at this point. There's some talks to possibly move it to another location that is bigger than this location and then be able to offer more services to our families."
Heron says the rumors started circulating after a disagreement between board members led to gossip around town.
She added that if the food bank moves to a bigger location at all, it wouldn't be for about six months.
Currently, the Idaho City Food Bank is open the second and fourth Wednesdays each month.
